Privacy Policy — MCS Driver App

This policy covers the MCS Driver App only. It does not cover the Alienegg Mobile games, and the Alienegg Mobile Privacy Policy does not cover this app. The two are deliberately separate because they describe very different things: the games collect no personal details, while this app exists specifically to collect a driver employment application that federal regulation requires a motor carrier to obtain.

1. Who is responsible for your information

Motor Carrier Solutions ("MCS," "we," "us," or "our") is the motor carrier that collects and holds the information submitted through this app, and is the party responsible for it.

Alienegg Mobile LLC is the publisher of record for the app on the app store developer account. Alienegg Mobile LLC does not use driver application information for its own purposes and does not share it with the advertising or analytics partners described in the Alienegg Mobile games policy — there are none in this app.

2. Who this app is for

The MCS Driver App is a workforce tool for prospective and current drivers of Motor Carrier Solutions. It is not a consumer product, it contains no advertising, and it is not directed to the general public or to children.

3. Information we collect

We collect the information a motor carrier is required to obtain on a driver employment application under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, together with what is needed to process that application. This includes:

Your name, address, date of birth, and contact information;
Your commercial driver's license details, and a photograph of your license;
Your employment history covering the period required by federal regulation, including previous employers and reasons for leaving;
Your driving experience and qualification information, including your answers to the regulatory eligibility questions — among them whether a license of yours has ever been denied, suspended, or revoked, and if so in which state;
A record of the hours you worked over the seven days before you apply, which federal regulation requires a carrier to obtain before a driver goes on duty;
Your Social Security number (see section 4);
Your signature and certification that the application is true and complete.

The app also records how long the application took to complete. This is an anti-automation check — it is there to tell a real applicant apart from an automated submission. It is not used to assess you as a driver.

We do not collect advertising identifiers, we do not track your location in the background, and we do not build an advertising or behavioral profile of you. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking components of any kind.

4. Your Social Security number, and why we ask for it

Federal regulation — 49 CFR § 391.21(b)(2) — requires that a driver employment application contain the applicant's Social Security number. We ask for it because the regulation requires it, not because we choose to.

It is transmitted with your application so that the completed application meets that requirement. It is not retained in our permanent driver records. The driver files we keep on an ongoing basis store only the last four digits.

To be plain about where the full number does go: your completed application is delivered to the Motor Carrier Solutions staff who handle driver qualification by email, and that delivered copy contains the number in full, because that is the document federal regulation requires. It is sent to private company mailboxes, not to a shared or public address, and it is deleted once your application has been processed. The confirmation copy sent to you shows only the last four digits, and carries no attachments at all — no application file, no photograph of your license, and no copy of your signature.

5. Information stored on your device

The app is built to work without a signal. While an application is being completed, and until it has been successfully transmitted to us, it is held in an encrypted store on your own device.

Once your application has been successfully transmitted, the application contents are erased from the device. A small record of the submission is kept for a short period so the app can show you that it went through, and is then removed automatically.

If an application cannot be transmitted at all and permanently fails, its contents are deliberately left in place on the device, because at that point your phone holds the only copy and erasing it would lose your application.

6. How we use your information

To evaluate your application for employment as a driver;
To meet our obligations as a motor carrier under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including maintaining a driver qualification file;
To contact you about your application or your employment;
To respond to lawful requests, audits, and inspections by the Department of Transportation, the FMCSA, or other authorities entitled to review driver qualification records.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

7. Who we share it with

Your information is shared only with:

Personnel of Motor Carrier Solutions who handle driver qualification and hiring;
Service providers that operate parts of the system on our behalf — for example the email provider that delivers your submitted application to us — which are permitted to use it only to provide that service;
Previous employers and testing or screening providers, where you have authorized a check or where a check is required by regulation;
Regulators, auditors, and law enforcement where we are required or permitted by law to provide it.

8. How long we keep it

Driver qualification records are retained by Motor Carrier Solutions on an ongoing basis as business and compliance records. Federal regulation sets minimum retention periods for parts of a driver qualification file; our practice is to retain these records rather than delete them at the minimum.

The exception is your Social Security number, which as described in section 4 is not carried into those permanent records beyond its last four digits.

9. Security

Applications are encrypted on your device before transmission, sent over an encrypted connection, and stored on our systems with access restricted to the personnel who need it. Stored application files are written with restricted permissions, and the Social Security number is masked to its last four digits before those files are written — that masking is applied at the point of writing, so an unmasked number cannot reach the stored file. The delivered email copy described in section 4 is the exception, and is handled as described there.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information and the law requires us to notify you, we will.

10. Your choices and rights

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask about its deletion, by writing to support@mcsdriver.com.

Please note that some of this information we are legally required to keep as a motor carrier, and we may not be able to delete it while that obligation applies. Where that is the case we will tell you.

Providing the information in the application is not optional in a practical sense: without it, a complete driver employment application cannot be made and we cannot consider you for a driving position.

11. Children

The app is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 18. Commercial driving positions carry their own minimum age requirements under federal and state law.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes affecting how we handle driver information will be communicated to affected drivers.
